I just bought my tickets. I didn't get my grant so I had to make some changes to my itinerary. I'll be cutting a week off which means I'll be spending less time in Lima and save the Amazon for a later trip.
So, in just a few weeks I'll be flying over the Andes Mountains.
I got lucky when I purchased my tickets. I had been checking the prices every day until they dropped nearly $300. That just happened to be the day that the CEOs of Delta, Virgin and Southwest met with the Dallas City Council to argue their cases for claiming the gates at Love Field that American had given-up. I found my drastically reduced Delta flight that day and the next day the price was back up. I got lucky. :)
